Hi,
Welcome to my HTML playground.
I have not put in much at this site yet. But after playing with the 4.0 versions of Netscape's and Microsoft's web-browser, I am very intrigued by the possibilities opened up by their adoption of HTML standards. You can download the latest versions from their websites hyperlinked above. Now that Netscape is also giving away its web-browser free-of-charge, the only reason left for not upgrading is that your hardware cannot take it.
At this site, you will find links to various pages I intend to create demonstrating some of the things you can achieve purely with simple HTML tags. At this point in time, I am not even thinking of adding Javascript, Java or ActiveX stuff.
And, to make it a little more challenging, not only will I make these pages look similar in both major browsers mentioned above, but also conform to HTML 4.0. I will make it a point to validate each and every page I create with W3's validator.
To kick-start this site, I have prepared a page (about 38KB) displaying the 256 shades afforded in the grayscale under HTML. I have also added colour bars of the three primary colours to brighten up the page. The slight snag is that readers on 640-pixel width screens will need to use the horizontal scroll.
Here is another page to demonstrate the different colours afforded by HTML. There are three tables, each with 216 "web-safe" colours, showing how the three primary colours (Red, Green and Blue) can be mixed to display a whole range of colours.
Then there is a page on fonts. This is primarily on Microsoft Windows fonts.
Finally, if your Javascript is switched on, you should see a table on the right which captures your browser's detail.
Do drop by again soon to see more.
In the meantime, happy surfing.
